Vacancies exist for friendly well-presented individuals to fill the voluntary positions within the St John Urgent Care Centres as a 'Meet & Greet' for members of the public seeking medical assistance. This will enable patients to find the correct area without confusion and delay.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Greet members of the public as they enter the facility
  • Assist visitors find the correct area they need for their medical treatments or appointments
  • Provide information and direction to Health Centre facilities
  • Assist non-ambulant patients to treatment rooms
  • Return centre equipment such as mobility devices to correct area after use
  • Promote other volunteering roles within SJA to students

Recruitment Method

To become a volunteer with St John Ambulance Western Australia, you will be asked to complete an on-line application, including a medical questionnaire and submit a National Police check. The on-line application is available from: http://vip.stjohnambulance.com.au.

Ongoing training

All our volunteers are provided with the necessary training to enable them to carry out their role. To continue to operate in your role, you must maintain the competencies required and an appropriate level of fitness as roles are physically demanding.

All information concerning our volunteers is treated as strictly confidential at all times.

Expenses

Your volunteering for St John Ambulance should not cost you anything. We will reimburse all legitimate out of pocket expenses incurred during your time volunteering with us. You should talk to your supervisor to confirm what expenses you can claim.
